Getting help quickly
Section titled “Getting help quickly”Including these details usually saves a round trip:
- Your store domain — the
.myshopify.comone, for examplemy-shop.myshopify.com. This is not the domain customers visit; the store owner can find it under Settings → Domains. - What you expected to happen, and what happened instead. “The listing page is empty” is more useful than “it’s not working”.
- The page or screen where it happened — a link if it is on your storefront.
- Your theme’s name, for anything about layout or styling.
- A screenshot, if the issue is visual.
- Whether your store has a storefront password, and the password if so — otherwise we cannot see the page.
For a release that isn’t appearing
Section titled “For a release that isn’t appearing”Include its slug, its date, and whether it shows in the app’s own release list. That distinguishes a scheduled release behaving correctly from one that did not save.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”My listing page is empty
Section titled “My listing page is empty”The page needs the Press Releases app block added in the theme editor. Creating the page alone is not enough. Confirm you also have at least one press release saved in the app.
Full walkthrough: Set up your press page.
The Back link on a detail page goes to the wrong place
Section titled “The Back link on a detail page goes to the wrong place”Set the Listing page URL in the app’s Settings to match the page handle you created — the detail page uses it for that link.
Do I need to edit my theme’s code?
Section titled “Do I need to edit my theme’s code?”No. Everything is added through the theme editor as an app block, and can be removed the same way.
Can a release link to an article on another site?
Section titled “Can a release link to an article on another site?”Yes. Enable the source link option on a release and paste the URL — readers will be sent there instead of to the app’s own detail page. See Linking to an external source.
Where is my content stored?
Section titled “Where is my content stored?”In your own Shopify store, as metaobjects. The app keeps no copy on its servers. See the Privacy policy.
What does the app cost?
Section titled “What does the app cost?”GISL Press Kit is free to install and use. See Pricing.
Feature requests
Section titled “Feature requests”Tell us the problem rather than the feature. “Journalists can’t find our older releases” gives us more to work with than “add pagination”, and sometimes has an answer today.
Reporting a security issue
Section titled “Reporting a security issue”Email us directly rather than opening a public ticket, and give us a reasonable window to fix it before disclosing.
