Featuring a release

Ticking Featured on a release adds a badge to its card on the listing page, marking it out from the rest.

What it does

It badges the card. That is the whole feature.

It does not:

• Move the release to the top of the list. Ordering is by date, always.
• Change the detail page.
• Pin the release when a visitor searches or filters.

If you want your featured release at the top as well, it needs to be the most recent by date.

What it does not do: expire

There is no “featured until” date. A release stays featured until you untick the box.

This is worth a calendar reminder. A badge still shouting about a launch from eight months ago undermines the rest of the page, and nothing in the app will remove it for you.

How many to feature

One, usually. The badge works by contrast — three featured cards out of four is just a noisier page.

Turning it off

Open the release, untick Featured, save. The badge disappears from the listing on the next page load.
