Images and media
A press release can carry one featured image. It appears on the card in the listing and at the top of the detail page.
Two ways to add one
Section titled “Two ways to add one”Upload a new file. Pick a file from your computer; the app uploads it to your store’s Shopify Files and attaches it to the release.
Choose an existing file. Browse files already in your store’s Shopify Files and pick one. Use this when several releases share a logo or a product shot — one file, referenced many times, rather than the same image uploaded repeatedly.
Where the files live
Section titled “Where the files live”In your Shopify store’s Files, not in storage belonging to this app. You can see them under Content → Files in your admin, and they remain there if you uninstall the app.
Choosing an image
Section titled “Choosing an image”- Landscape works better than portrait. Cards are wider than they are tall.
- Keep the subject central. Cards may crop to fit a consistent grid.
- Size it sensibly. Around 1200px wide is plenty. A 6MB camera original slows your listing page for no visible benefit.
- The same image across every release makes your press room look like a template. Vary it where you can.
Releases without an image
Section titled “Releases without an image”Perfectly valid. The card renders without one. If only some releases have images, the listing will look uneven — either give them all one or none.
Removing an image
Section titled “Removing an image”Open the release, remove the featured image, and save. The file stays in your Shopify Files; removing it from the release does not delete it, which is what you want when other releases use it.
Images inside the content
Section titled “Images inside the content”The featured image is a separate field from the body. For images within the body of a release, add them through the content editor.
