Theme styling

Both the listing block and the detail page are built to inherit your theme rather than impose a look of their own.

  • Type. No font is named. Text uses whatever your theme has set, and is sized relative to your theme’s scale rather than in fixed pixels — so it follows if you change your type size.
  • Colour. Text inherits, surfaces are transparent, and rules and muted tones are mixed from the surrounding text colour. A dark theme gets a dark press room with no configuration.

The practical effect is that a fresh install usually looks like part of your store immediately.

Accent colour The category, “Read more” link and focus outlines. Blank inherits.
Show more button Background, text, hover states and corner radius — these have real defaults (a blue button), not inherited ones.
Layout Max width, padding and margins.

All of them are on the block — see Block settings reference.

The Show more button ships blue (#0066cc) with white text. Every other colour inherits, so on a theme that isn’t blue-and-white the button is the one element that will look borrowed. Set it to match your theme’s buttons.

It is tempting to add a rule to your theme to nudge something. Resist it:

  • A theme edit survives uninstalling the app, leaving a rule targeting elements that no longer exist.
  • It is lost when you switch or update your theme.
  • It becomes a mystery to whoever maintains the store next.

If the block can’t be made to look right with its own settings, contact support with your theme name and a link to the page.

Because colours are derived from your theme rather than hardcoded, a theme with a dark mode carries the press room with it — with the exception of the Show more button, whose colours you set explicitly. Pick button colours that work in both, or accept it looking deliberate in one.
